Standing seam and corrugated metal — the longest-lasting roof you can put on a Chicago building.
If you want a roof you will not think about again for decades, metal is the answer. We install and repair both standing seam and corrugated metal roofing for homeowners and businesses across the Chicago area.
Metal roofs resist heavy rain, snow load, strong winds and extreme temperature swings while requiring very little maintenance — and they shed snow instead of holding it, which matters more here than in most of the country.
The two systems solve different problems and cost very differently.
Freeze-thaw is what destroys roofs here, and metal is largely immune to it: no granules to lose, no mat to saturate, no sealant strip to fail. A metal roof also sheds snow rather than accumulating it, which reduces both snow load and the standing-meltwater conditions that create ice dams. It is non-combustible, and a standing seam roof handles lake wind better than any shingle system.
We provide metal roofing in Chicago, IL, Cicero, IL, Berwyn, IL, Oak Park, IL, Elmwood Park, IL, Schaumburg, IL, Naperville, IL, Joliet, IL and everywhere else inside our 100-mile radius. Free estimates throughout.

Free estimate, honest assessment, and no pressure to book on the spot.
Not on a modern residential installation. The panels sit over solid decking with underlayment and an insulated attic beneath. The drumming people remember comes from metal fixed directly to open purlins on a barn — a completely different assembly.
Standing seam with a quality factory finish realistically gives 40–70 years. Exposed-fastener corrugated gives 25–40, with a fastener service at the midpoint. Both substantially outlast asphalt.
It helps, because snow slides off a metal roof rather than sitting on it and melting from underneath. It is not a substitute for fixing attic heat loss, but it removes much of the standing snow that feeds the problem.
